| A series of lectures by academic and industrial researchers involved in cutting edge research at the interface of chemical engineering and genomics, proteomics and/or metabolomics to be held during Spring Quarter. Our goal is to engage faculty from across campus and industrial colleagues in a discussion of the role engineers will play in moving the frontiers of science and technology forward in the post-genomics era. The lectures will be held in 115 Hutchinson from 4:10-5:30. Three of these presentations, on April 21, May 19 and June 2, will be followed by a dinner and panel discussion with ample time for informal interactions and discussions among participants. The April 21 dinner/roundtable discussion will be held in the Alpha Gamma Rho Room at the UC Davis Alumni Center; the May 19 and June 2 events will be held in the Cabernet Room at the Silo Union; all will start at 6 pm. Following the dinner, there will be a panel discussion/forum involving our invited speaker as well as scientists and key administrators from across campus and industry. Our hope is to use these discussions to spur interactions among faculty and to help identify possible academic and industrial collaborations in this exciting area. |
