Michael’s project is to study AFM and SEM images of nanosurfaces to extract features that would help explain surface morphology and composition. He uses wavelet transforms to carry out the analysis. Our collaborators on this project are Professor Pieter Stroeve (UC Davis) and Professor Yangchuan Ke (Chinese University of Petroleum, Beijing).
