Welcome to Dr. Nigel D. Browning's Interface Physics Group!
Our research interest is mainly the structure-property relationships at atomic scale defects and interfaces in advanced materials such as ferroelectric and magnetic oxide ceramics, quantum dots and wells, and fuel cell materials.
Our analytic techniques include atomic-resolution imaging and spectroscopy in electron microscopy such as Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy (STEM), Dynamic Transmission Electron Microscopy (DTEM), Z-contrast imaging, and high energy-resolution electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS).
