The delighted Chemical Car team after taking 1st in the AIChE Western Regional Conference for the second year in a row! They beat out five other cars and four other schools including UCLA, UC Berkeley, UCSB and University of Nevada Reno, going a distance of 71.6 feet out of the instructed 70 feet. The car runs off 30% hydrogen peroxide with potassium permanganate catalyst and must fit in a box with dimensions 40x30x18 (cm). They also took second place in the poster competition which is a test of how well the team knows their car and how safe they've made it. Spirits are high as they prepare for nationals in November.
